The Prostate Ruler is a practical, rule-of-thumb guide designed to compare finger and toy lengths to the typical range of prostate depths. Given the significant variation in individual anatomy, creating a universal tool is challenging. The most relevant data available comes from studies measuring physician finger lengths used during digital rectal exams, which simulates a toy decently well.
To effectively stimulate the prostate, a toy typically needs to reach a certain depth and angle upward to apply direct pressure—unless it relies on girth or active kegel engagement.
