Multiple Os

The science of becoming orgasmic, experiencing orgasms, and having multiple orgasms.

Anal orgasms and Other Orgasm Typologies Reported by Individuals of All Genders: An Avenue for Gender-Blind and Sex-Blind Orgasm Typology Study

Less some medical occurrences, individuals of all sexes and all genders—trans, cisgender, and more—have an anus, a genital-region homolog. Some of these individuals have reported experiencing an anal orgasm.

What does this mean for literature and research?

Anal orgasms, like many other orgasm typologies occurring on, in, around, or from shared body parts among all genders, can be an avenue, among other anatomical homolog, through which orgasm researchers can explore a similar orgasm loci and perhaps typology across sexes and genders.

Like other orgasm loci posed by most members of all genders—nipple orgasms, back orgasms, coregasms, and other participant-determined typologies, anal orgasms can, one day, be studied more and include anal-havers of all genders. Sex and gender can also be randomized and anonymized in the study to prevent notions of how the researchers expect them to feel. Including all genders in one, say, anal orgasm study, can help the researcher not make assumptions when interpreting the themes in the study based on the participants’ descriptions, experiences, and identified typologies in past research.

Its possible that participants report many types of anal orgasms and co-occurrence with other orgasm typologies, so the researchers will need to be aware of typology crossover, variance, user classification criteria, user expression, description mediums, philosophical influence on topology, and blended orgasms.

While some studies have included multiple genders, most have focused on either just cisgender females, cisgender males, and the sexes. Selection of one group over another group adds to inequalities in research. Diversity–ethnicity, nationality, and people beyond the WEIRD–should also be emphasized in future research to be more inclusive.

Anatomical homologs like the anus may one day be an avenue for gender-blind and sex-blind orgasm typology studies.
