Preliminary Study – A preliminary poll: 82% of circumcised men ignore serial anejaculatory mini-orgasms, 91% of intact men enjoy them (French: Sondage : 81% des circoncis ignorent les petits orgasmes en série, 90% des intacts en jouissent)
The notion that circumcision decreases sensitivity has been a topic of debate over the years. Whether circumcision itself should be performed has been also debated (https://www.webmd.com/sexual-conditions/guide/circumcision). Research shows mixed findings, with some studies showing no sensitivity difference and others finding a significant decrease in sensitivity (https://www.circumstitions.com/Sexuality.html and https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/23374102/). Interestingly, circumcision has been a proposed treatment for premature ejaculation, as the researchers suspect that it will help with penile hypersensitivity (https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.1016/j.aju.2017.02.002).
PRELIMINARY STUDY ON SERIAL ANEJACULATORY MINI-ORGASMS
A French preliminary poll study investigated whether uncircumcised penis-owners experience what the author calls “Serial Anejaculatory Mini-Orgasms” (petits orgasmes en série) more than circumcised penis-owners. While this is just a preliminary poll study, I found this article interesting as multi-orgasmic ability and circumcision was not previously investigated to any extent.
https://www.researchgate.net/publication/338195714_The_serial_little_anajeculatory_male_orgasms
The participation in this study suggests that both circumcised and uncircumcised report having these mini-orgasms. However, the author believes that uncircumcised penis-owners can have the easier or more readily due to an expected increased sensitivity. However, if this increased sensitivity inhibits ejaculatory control, then it could be difficult to have non-ejaculatory multiple orgasms. Individual variation here is surely present.
REVIEW OF POLL STUDY
The translated term “Serial Little Anejaculatory Orgasms” is one that I have not found before in orgasmology literature. To my knowledge, this is the first usage of this term being used to describe multiple non-ejaculatory orgasms in penis owners. Each of its parts is interesting.
- Serial – Some researchers, such as Levin (1981) (https://www.academia.edu/25906956/The_female_orgasm_A_current_appraisal), use the term “serial” to “multiple.” Serial and multiple may not always describe the same thing, however.
- Anejaculatory – This is perhaps a bad translation, as it can be associated with the medical condition anejaculation (being unable to ejaculation). Perhaps “non-ejaculatory” is a more accurate translation.
- Mini/Little – The first think I think of is la petite mort (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/La_petite_mort), but this is not known to be associated with mini-orgasms. Also, “little” does not necessarily mean less powerful, as some penis-owners find these orgasms are individually or cumulatively more satisfying or intense than their ejaculatory counterpart. Other penis-owners find the ejaculatory orgasm to be slightly more powerful than mini-orgasms. It’s possible that mini-orgasms very in intensity like ejaculatory orgasms. There is currently no mini-orgasm rating scale to get an idea of how people rate their mini-orgasms.
DEFINITION OF SERIAL ANEJACULATORY MINI-ORGASMS
The author defines “serial anejaculatory mini-orgasms” as follows:
“’Serial anejaculatory mini-orgasms’ are… accompanied by great pleasure,…[and] occur spontaneously as soon as the beginning of erection and may be repeated indefinitely with some stimulation. They are very conspicuous, impossible not to notice them. They are little spasms that harden and slightly lift up the erected penis. They are brief (around one second or less) and repetitive (at intervals of a few seconds). They are thus similar to clitoral orgasms (spasms rightly called “the minis” by Anglo-American women). Each contraction provokes the closure of the sphincter that allows the passage of sperm from the seminal vesicles into the urethra. Those orgasms have thus nothing to do with common ejaculatory orgasm, multiple orgasms or delayed ejaculation (“edging”). Unlike the spasms grouped in clusters of the great orgasm, theirs are isolated and endlessly repetitive: more or less 120 in 10 minutes (around 1 every 5 seconds)” (p. 1)
PROBLEMS WITH THIS DEFINITION
There seems to be many confusing and contradictory aspects of this definition. Orgasm, after all, is very difficult to determine and define. (For more info, see https://www.reddit.com/r/MultipleOs/comments/1036f9d/study_an_orgasm_is_who_defines_what_an_orgasm_is/)
- According to the author, these mini-orgasms are suspected to be similar to clitoral orgasms.
- Although the definition says “[t]hey are little spasms that harden and slightly lift up the erected penis” (p. 2), not all mini-orgasms in both clitoris- and penis-owners come with contractions.
- It’s unclear if the author is equating one-second penile contractions with orgasm. Orgasm is the feeling of climax and not the contractions. The feeling can of mini-orgasms are typically closer to that of ejaculatory-orgasms—around 8 seconds.
- Although the definition says “[e]ach contraction provokes the closure of the sphincter that allows the passage of sperm from the seminal vesicles into the urethra” (p. 1), the mini-orgasms are non-ejaculatory. Not sure why this is included. Perhaps it’s poorly translated.
- It’s important that the researcher distinguished the ejaculatory orgasm and delayed ejaculation (edging). However, it’s important to note that some people experience what they call mini-orgasms through edging. It’s also unclear why these multiple mini-orgasms are distinguished from multiple orgasms.
- These orgasms seemingly under this definition, only occur during erection. However, there have been reports of multiple orgasms in individuals with erectile dysfunction (https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/27872023/). Erection is not essential for either orgasm or ejaculation. Perhaps it may not be essential for mini-orgasms too.
- When it states “[u]nlike the spasms grouped in clusters of the great orgasm, theirs are isolated and endlessly repetitive: more or less 120 in 10 minutes (around 1 every 5 seconds)” (p. 1)), it makes it sound like penile/anal spasms are being described instead of a feeling associated with orgasm. The key is whether there is a climax of sensation accompanying these contractions.
- Due to difficulty with defining mini-orgasms and orgasm itself, it’s possible that the respondents were considering many different things to be mini-orgasms—anything from a penis-spasm to any other orgasm-like sensation.
